I’m With the Band: Profiling Our Launch Party Performers

I’m With the Band: Profiling Our Launch Party Performers

BY ANNA J. STAINSBY                               ONLINE DIRECTOR

Tonight, The Brooklyn will be hosting MUSE to launch Issue XV of our print publication. To celebrate, we’ve asked some of campus’s most talented musicians to help us ring in the event. I had the chance to ask each of them a few questions about their music and themselves to give you an idea of who you’ll be listening to! Read on to learn about what bands they’d infiltrate if they could, who their Muses are, and how they got started… Then, get pumped about tonight! Issue XV is probably our favourite issue yet- so let’s get a party to match.

Sarah Joy Vermaeten

Playing from 10:00-10:30.

If you could have any musician’s career- whose would it be?

I’d be pretty down for a Britney Spears kind of career, including the head shaving breakdown of 2007.

Fondest musical memory?

Listening to a whole bar chant my name during one of my sets… best feeling ever.

Best concert?

Bruce Springsteen. He’s the Boss.

Who is your Muse?

Greg Rad (our amazing Business Director)

Georgia Straits

Playing from 10:40-11:10:

When did you start playing?

Ian and Dan met in first year, and wrote the bulk of the material we regularly perform in their Leonard Hall dorm room. Logan and Josh joined in the summer of 2016, and the four of us have been playing regularly since last September. Alex is a longtime friend of the band who hopped on the bass in summer 2017.

Describe your sound in 3 words.
