Music Monday: A Compton Thing

Welcome back to the latest edition of Music Mondays!

This week, I tried to change it up and go slightly out of my comfort zone, so bear with me here. Anyone who knows me knows that rap and hip-hop are not my forte; they are genres that tend to push the boundaries of my musical spectrum. So why, you may ask, did I decide on this playlist theme? I was recently fortunate enough to see the movie Straight Outta Compton and was introduced to the rap group N.W.A. To the people who have yet to get out from under their rocks and see this movie, I highly recommend it. I was mesmerized by the story of how a group of kids from Compton, California were able to revolutionize the hip-hop scene. To honour this, I felt that it was fitting to bring forth a playlist to you all inspired by the movie. This mix of music combines old school rap and hip-hop tracks with some newer stuff tossed in.
